Sprint to include local FM stations on some smartphones in 2013
Is it ground-breaking? Hardly. Nonetheless, Sprint has announced that they will start introducing FM radio capability, thanks to a partnership with the American radio industry. The feature comes via what Sprint is calling “NextRadio”, which will feature a slew of interactive features – none of which we know specifics on as of yet. The thing that makes this different from your standard FM radio capabilities on some devices currently on the market is that the feature will not require special hardware, meaning any Sprint device (theoretically) could use it.
